Letter C Activity Worksheet

The Letter C is for Cupcake, especially this month! It’s my birthday month! So, this is perfect! Virtual cupcakes all around! We have been celebrating my birthday all month long with mini celebrations.

You may read all about the mini celebrations we have been doing over at 19 Ways to Celebrate Your Birthday {with or without kids}.

It has been so fun! One of the mini celebrations, of course, was to go get a special cupcake from the local bakery that is 5 minutes walking distance from our house. We picked out the Funfetti cupcake. The colorful sprinkles made it a must-have cupcake, especially for my kiddos. You want a cupcake yet? Sorry, not sorry.

Back to the activity…

I have been trying to help my son recognize numbers while learning new letters. So, I made this activity worksheet to help him recognize the letter C and numbers 1-4.

The Letter C Toddler Activity

the letter C

For this letter C activity, you will need to print: Letter C Activity Worksheet: C is for Cupcake

I have on there some prompts for you to help your toddler learn. I am not a credentialed teacher; but, it is so fun to teach what I can to my kids.

For this activity:

  1. Review the letter C with your child. Point out the Big C and the little c with your toddler.
  2. Then, have your child find the words on the page that start with the letter C (Cupcake, Color, Coloring, child).
  3. Next, it’s time to color using the color key! Review the numbers 1-4 with your child. For example: “Look, Mikey! Number 1 is in the purple circle!” And so on.
  4. Have your toddler find the number 1 within the cupcake and have him color all number 1’s purple. Repeat with each number and color.
  5. Then hang your child’s activity on a wall. Check out my kiddos’ activity corner HERE. Within the comments, there are ideas of how other moms display their kid’s artwork and activities.
  6. I recommend printing a few pages of this activity to have your child do throughout the week.

The Benefits of Repetition for Learning Something New

TodaysParent.com  shares, “Repetition is the foundation of many aspects of learning, says Judith Wright, a literacy specialist with the Ontario Early Years Centres in London, Ont., and co-director of the London Suzuki Music Centre. “A baby needs 1,000 repetitions to learn a word; by the time he’s a toddler, he might need 50 repetitions; and when he’s in kindergarten, he may need only a few repetitions to master it because the brain connections have been laid out.” Parents help this process by singing the same song, reading the same story, reciting the same nursery rhyme — and repeating what the baby says back. “We do this intuitively,” says Wright. “A mother will say Mama and the baby will hear it 1,000 times before he says it — we don’t get tired of saying that!”

Thank you Abigail. Repetition and consistency are super important! Knowing this helps with all the times the kiddos want to hear the same book.

I apologize that it is hard to see. I will fix it. The link is right below the Pinterest Pin Graphic: “For this letter C activity, you will need to print: Letter C Activity Worksheet: C is for Cupcake.” I will edit it to make it more bold. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
